Medical Spanish is offered in a customized, tailored program format. A special course designed for physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, medical students, ER personnel, dentists, orthodontists, and all dental personnel and technicians with a basic understanding of Spanish. This is an interactive language training course focusing on communicating with the patient.
Focus is placed on realistic situations and specialized vocabulary that a health professional requires on a day-to-day basis to effectively communicate with a patient. Students will receive an extensive vocabulary list that will be used in role-plays, dialogues, and exercises. There is a grammar component and a cultural component to the course, too! Are there any requirements to enroll?
Yes. You must be at least 18-years old to register.
Will the instruction be in English?
No! We teach the language in the language. This is the immersion method and it is very successful. Simply put, you will learn Spanish in Spanish. In this way, you will not be translating constantly, which will slow down your progress in learning the language.
How long is the class?
Classes are designed to meet your needs in a customized, flexible, accessible format.
What will I learn?
You will learn vocabulary and phrases in order to take a patient history, perform a physical exam, and interact with patients and their family members.
Are there any prerequisites?
No. Our Medical Spanish classes are designed for beginners. No previous knowledge or study of Spanish is required to be successful in these classes.
I studied Spanish in school. Will I benefit from this class?
If you have some knowledge of Spanish, it will benefit you in the medical Spanish class and your progress will be accelerated.
