OLLI @ UM is an association of community members aged 50 and better seeking intellectual enrichment. In addition to taking Osher courses, OLLI members are invited to a wide variety of University of Miami lectures and social events.

We have a 'teach a class, take a class' policy. Our OLLI volunteer instructors can register for an OLLI class tuition-free in exchange for teaching. Join us and teach your passion!

TAI CHI

Course description: Tai chi is a gentle and graceful movement class designed to build better balance, coordination, and focus in older adults. PHOTOGRAPHY – Nature & Animal digital photography

Learn how to catch and record close-ups of animals, plants and panoramic subtropical landscapes. This 6 week course combines one classroom instructions with five outdoor photo safaris, followed by thoughtful critiques outdoors, after the shoots. Topics include aperture, shutter speed, and ISO settings. PowerPoint and digital image presentations will serve as demos. A digital camera with a zoom lens is recommended. SOLO PARA MI: TALLER DE REFLEXION

In our 50s and beyond, we are faced with a myriad of new opportunities, as well as challenges. Many of us yearn for a sounding board to help us think through these important choices. For those that have been “living in English” and “feeling in Spanish,” each week we will dive deeply into conversations about a range of topics designed to help you with the changes and new openings in the second part of life.
