Some methods of business communication include reports, presentations, and correspondence. These can be written, electronic, or spoken.

Four courses make up the certificate: two business writing courses and two speaking & presentations courses.

Through an accelerated curriculum, our program  focuses on the basic elements of workplace communication. We offer a foundation in solid writing and presentations skills that can immediately be taken back to the workplace and applied in everyday settings. Each day, employees are expected to communicate effectively in writing through email and in person. Our classes focus on these real-life situations and build the core skills needed to excel. Our instructors have demonstrated teaching ability and subject matter expertise.

Are there special admissions requirements?
No. We only require that you have a high school diploma. Otherwise, simply sign up for the classes at your convenience online.

What are the requirements for successful completion to earn the certificate?
To receive a certificate in this program, you must successfully complete the four required courses: two business writing courses and two speaking & presentations courses, as well as all the written and presentations assignments. All coursework must be completed successfully in order to receive the certificate. Upon successful completion, you are awarded the University of Miami Residential Design Certificate.

Can I register for just one or two courses?
Yes. Each course is open and available for individual registration. Be advised that you will only receive the Certificate in Business Communications upon successful completion of all four courses.

How long does it take to complete the Business Communication Certificate?
Students can complete the four required courses in 10 weeks. Each course lasts 5 weeks, and you can take 2 courses at a time.
