Course Description: This course will consist of six distinct lessons in drawing.  These lessons will demonstrate various techniques, terminology and media related to drawing. By the end of the course, students will learn the various types of traditional drawing media, history of drawing and a litany of skills that will allow them to execute their visions.

Weeks 

Week 1 Media: Pencils, Content: Linework, Subject: Abstraction.

Week 2 Media: Pencils, Content: Contour and value, Subject: Still Life.

Week 3 Media: Charcoal, Content: Value and Form; Subject: Drapery studies.

Week 4 Media: Charcoal, Content: Value and form; Subject: Portraiture using value.

Week 5 Media: Pens, Content: Scene construction, Subject: Photograph of “scape.”

Week 6 Media: Pens, Content: Putting the Skills Together, Subject: Open to Interpretation.
