Course Description:  In this course, you will learn the basics of Watercolor Painting, a very special art medium. You will learn to control the transparency and opacity of the paints and complete a final, frame-worthy project by the end of the 6 weeks.

Week 1:  Introduction to the Art of Watercolor- Let’s get familiar with the techniques and fundamental rules. For example: Paint backwards-Sparingly use water-Proper paper choices, etc.

Week 2:  Proper preparation and planning of your piece. All about the pigments and how to control the transparency/opacity. Short exercises. Create a small piece.

Week 3: Tips and tricks the artist uses in Watercolor techniques. Start a new piece on a larger scale. We will do a series of short exercises on blending and controlling the colors.

Week 4: Commence a larger project. Combining pen and ink with watercolor. How to plan ahead in a project.

Week 5: Planning the FINAL PROJECT. Learning to sketch out the 'boundaries' and blocking the space.

Week 6: Completion of the final project.
