In order to defer payment of in the amount of $3045.00 that I owe to the University of Miami, I promise to pay to the order of the University of Miami, Division of Continuing & International Education, Coral Gables, Florida, or its assigns, the sum of $3045.00, which includes a $50.00 deferment fee, payable in accordance with the following payment schedule:

I understand that I must pay online (check or credit card) by visiting the University's website at www.canelink.miami.edu. I understand that a 2.5% fee will apply if payment is made with a credit card. No credit card payments will be accepted through the mail or at the office. It is my responsibility to make sure that payments are received by the due date on this promissory note.

I further waive presentment for payment demand, notice of dishonor and protest.

In the event of non-payment when due of any of the amounts indicated above, the University of Miami may declare due and payable at once the sum of the outstanding payment amounts set forth above. In addition, I agree to pay interest upon all past due and unpaid amounts at the maximum rate permitted by law.

I agree to pay to the University of Miami all costs incurred by the University of Miami in enforcing its rights, hereunder, including, but not limited to, all court costs and reasonable attorney’s fees, which shall equal ten percent (10%) of the indebtedness owed hereunder or such greater amount as a court may determine is reasonable.

The University agrees that I may at my option and without penalty prepay all or any part of my indebtedness at any time.

It is agreed that this note and the rights and obligations of the University of Miami and the maker hereunder shall be interpreted, enforced and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida.

I UNDERSTAND THAT THE UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI MAY WITHHOLD GRADES, TRANSCRIPTS, DIPLOMA, STUDENT PRIVILEDGES AND SERVICES, RE-ADMISSION AND MAY ADMINISTRATIVELY WITHDRAW MY REGISTRATION IF PAYMENT IS NOT MADE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ABOVE SCHEDULE. I ACKNOWLEDGE RECEIVING A COPY OF THIS PROMISSORY NOTE.
