The Leadership in Instructional Design and Technology Certificate is a higher-level certificate program designed for educational professionals who are interested in online instructional design, distance instructional delivery systems, management, and consulting. It offers professionals the opportunity to bridge the gap between research and practice.

To earn the Leadership in Instructional Design and Technology Certificate, you'll need to complete four courses from this learning path.

Core Courses (Required):

  • Leadership for Distance Education
    • Learn how to manage diverse teams and be aware of and sensitive to religious, racial, and cultural norms.

  • Managing Instructional Design Initiatives
    • In this course, participants integrate the competencies of instructional design and development with the leadership, innovative thinking, and communication skills needed to become competent leaders.
    • Textbook required

 Electives (Select 2 courses):

  • Universal Design for Learning (UDL)
    • Examine current UDL principles and trends as well as how to leverage that knowledge to create deeper engagement and comprehension.
  • Practices in Online Instructional Design
    • Apply tested theories of learning to online education.
  • Fundamental Skills of Instructional Technologists
    • This course is recommended for K-12 Educators and Administrators. Learn to oversee the smooth implementation of technology throughout your organization.

Our courses are offered during Fall, Spring, and Summer so you can choose when you'd like to take them. Each course is five weeks long.
