Dr. Randy Arvay

Dr. Randy Arvay works as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for Duke Health, encompassing the three-hospital system, the Schools of Medicine and Nursing, and the Duke Clinical Research Institute (DCRI). He previously worked as the CISO for the University of Utah and University of Utah Health, as well as the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

Prior to that, Dr. Arvay had a 23-year career in the Army, ending service as the Chief of Cyber Security and Quality Assurance in the Joint Spectrum Center, Annapolis, He also served as an Assistant Professor in the Cyber Sciences Department at the United States Naval Academy.

Dr. Arvay received his Ph.D. in Software Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, California, his Master’s degree in Information Systems from Hawaii Pacific University, Honolulu, Hawaii, and his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the United States Military Academy, West Point, New York.
