Michelle Komm, Program Instructor

Dr. Michelle Komm holds a B.S.Ed. with an emphasis on Sport Science from the University of Kansas and Doctorate of Chiropractic from Cleveland Chiropractic College. Over the last 18 years, she has performed several roles within the allied health and medical field. She has extensive experience assisting in the facilitation of patient care including, but not limited to, patient evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment. She has wide-range of knowledge and skill counseling patients regarding nutrition, exercise, sleeping habits, stress management, and other health related matters. Dr. Komm is a member of the American Academy of Professional Coders and is a Certified Professional Coder (CPC). 

During the last ten years, Dr. Komm has been teaching within a variety of allied health and medical programs. Dr. Komm has considerable teaching experience within the fields of exercise science, anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, pathology, medical coding, electronic medical record keeping, and nutrition. She has been recognized for both her dedication and teaching excellence within higher education.

 

Susan Davis

Susan Davis, Program Instructor

Susan Davis earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Simmons College in 1989 and a Doctor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Maryland in 2006.  In addition, Susan obtained a Graduate Certificate in Distance Education from the University of Maryland University College.  She has twenty-five years of clinical healthcare experience in a variety of healthcare settings from hospitals to home care agencies to outpatient facilities.  She has been performing medical coding for over fifteen years for outpatient and home care centers.  She holds the Certified Coding Associate certification from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).

In her current role as a medical billing and coding specialists, she contracts with multiple health care settings providing coding services and acting as a consultant in multiple areas in the billing and coding practices.

Susan has been teaching in prestigious healthcare programs at the University of Maryland and Logan University for eight years.  She also has been developing coursework for these schools and others in healthcare and electronic medical record programs, creating courses which include Computer Office Systems, Medical Insurance, Electronic Medical Administrative Procedures, Medical Terminology, Anatomy & Physiology, and many more.
